Seven Oaks in Gilroy-San Juan Bautitsa

Seven Oaks-SJB is located in a quiet rural setting about 10 minutes south of Gilroy off the 101 freeway. This barn is a 45-minute drive from San Jose, Santa Cruz, and Monterey, 30 minutes away from Los Gatos and Salinas, and under 15 minutes from Morgan Hill, San Martin, Aromas and Captitola. The facility is private, not public, so we prefer that you don’t just “drop by.” Please call us to arrange an appointment to see the farm.

FACILITIES

Seven Oaks is a dressage barn with boarding available only to horses in training. Our amenities include two all-weather arenas, a wash rack with hot water, large turnouts, and sizable tack & feed rooms. Both arenas have sand and rubber footing and lights and are dragged daily. You can ride during your lesson times or by arrangement with management.

HORSE CARE

The horses receive wonderful care. There is staff onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We offer alfalfa and grass hay twice a day (other feeds are available by arrangement) and a third feeding is customized for each horse’s needs. Stalls are cleaned daily. Horses are rotated from large stalls to paddocks so that each gets at least half a day’s turnout.

TRAINING

Training for most horses is a combination of schooling your horse and giving lessons to you on your horse. Along with normal dressage schooling sessions, we work most horses over cavaletti and we condition them by walking up and down a very steep hill. We also offer "Mardi Gras" sessions: a chance for young horses and young-at-heart horses to get used to some of the more challenging aspects of horse life.

STALL AVAILABILITY

Seven Oaks has some flexibility in stabling, although we are often full. If you are a good match for us, and vice-versa, we will get you in as quickly as possible.

PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE BARN WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. THANK YOU FOR RESPECTING THE PRIVACY OF EVERYONE AT SEVEN OAKS.
